Mozilla Thunderbird
Step 1: In Thunderbird select the Tools/Accounts Settings. The E-mail Accounts dialog will appear.
Step 2: At the bottom of the left panel, Click Account Action/Add
Mail Account. Enter your name, and in the Email address box
enter your email address then click 'Continue' Select Pop3
option, (Imap is used in model 1400 and 1600 only) Lastly, enter
password and check remember password. if desired. Click 'Done'
Step 3: In left panel, click on server settings below the
email address you just created. This will bring the details of
your account in the right side of the window. Now, you see
the server name and email address. In the server name box
enter the DNS name or the IP address of your ReSieve box.
In the 'User Name' text box, add the pop3 address to
your email address, syntax
goes like this. Note the colon separator between.
pop3.server.com:YourEmailAddress@SomeServer.com
If for some
reason the pop3 server in not on port 110 then syntax goes like this
pop3.server.com:Port:YourEmailAddress@SomeServer.com proxy[%port]%pop.mailserver.net[:port]:username
For ssl use then syntax goes like this
pop3.server.com:Port:YourEmailAddress@SomeServer.com:ssl
Step 4: Create the
folders so that once ReSieve has tagged the emails, your email
program can take them and put everything in the right folder.
Right click your email address in the left panel and select
'New Folder', give them the same name that those of the tags
you created in the ReSieve window.
Step 5: Thunderbird needs instructions to put your emails
to the right folder. Click menu Tools/Message filters
Click the New button Enter filter name, in this case we
wrote 'spam'. Select 'Match all of the following'
ReSieve, buy default will write its tag in the email's
Subject, so Select Subject, contains, (one of the tags you
have created in ReSieve), in this case 'spam'
Lastly, in the 'Perform these actions:' box Select 'Move
Message to' and click on 'choose folder'. Your email
address(es) will appear, select the one you need and then the
folder in which the emails should go to.
